About Pam
My journey in life has enriched and influenced my approach to therapy. While raising four children I obtained my BA in Counseling and Theology and later pursued a Master’s degree at Indiana University. Both recovery from early childhood sexual trauma, and later, a divorce, led to a deeper understanding of navigating life’s challenges. I came to understand the importance of working with a skilled therapist and the vital role supportive friends play in healing. I believe a strong connection to community is vital as we navigate life’s challenges.
I’ve been privileged to work in various settings through the years. This includes my work as a school therapist, developing curriculum for Missouri’s Child Welfare system, serving as a member of the Missouri Attorney Generals Human Trafficking Task Force, developing and presenting various trauma related courses and as a speaker for organizations across the country. I am thankful for these many opportunities and have been transformed by the many people I have met. I continue to provide therapy and remote secondary stress consultations for health care and child welfare professionals.
I am a lifelong learner and believe we learn from each other in the therapy room. I believe the key to successful therapy is mutual respect, an open mind, and a willingness to work together. I am a firm believer in understanding our nervous system as influenced by the Vagus Nerve (Polyvagal Theory), and utilize EMDR, and EFT as well as other interventions to support clients.
A recent move from Kansas City to Ohio with my wife Mary opens the next chapter in my journey. We look forward to enjoying our work, our family and friends, biking, swimming, and exploring the beauty of the world around us.
